The Higher Education Quality Council; established under the ‘Higher Education Quality Assurance Regulation’ published in the Official Gazette dated 23 July 2015 and numbered 29423 and subsequently amended in accordance with the provisions of Article 35 of the Additional Provisions added to the Higher Education Law No. 2547 by the Law No. 7033 dated 1 July 2017 on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decrees with the Force of Law for the Purpose of Developing Industry and Supporting Production.
The Higher Education Quality Council is an administrative and financially autonomous public institution with legal personality and a special budget, responsible for evaluating the quality levels of educational, research, and administrative services of higher education institutions in accordance with national and international quality standards, and for conducting internal and external quality assurance, accreditation processes, and the authorisation of independent external evaluation institutions. The Higher Education Quality Council consists of 13 members.
