Objective:
The Erasmus Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the international mobility (study and internship) of department students and faculty members within the scope of the European Union Erasmus+ programme is carried out in an effective, regular and academically appropriate manner; coordinating the processes of incoming and outgoing students academically and administratively.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Information and Promotion Activities: Organising information sessions for students and faculty members about the Erasmus+ programme, providing information on application requirements and deadlines.
- Application and Selection Process: Receive Erasmus study and internship mobility applications, ensure that all required documents are completed, and conduct a fair selection process based on scoring and evaluation criteria.
- Equivalent Course Planning: Checking the suitability of courses that outgoing students will take at universities abroad with the department curriculum, evaluating and approving Learning Agreement (LA) documents in terms of academic compatibility.
- Student Academic Follow-up: Monitoring the academic success of students participating in the Erasmus process, conducting course equivalence and grade conversion procedures upon their return.
- Processes Related to Incoming Students: Providing support to foreign Erasmus students coming to the department in course selection, advisor assignment, academic guidance, and adaptation processes.
- Coordination with the International Office: Ensuring that department-level processes are carried out in line with the central office by maintaining constant communication with the University International Relations Office.
- Follow-up and Updating of Bilateral Agreements:Ensuring that bilateral agreements with universities abroad within the scope of Erasmus are up to date in terms of duration, content and department matching, and developing proposals for new agreements.
- Academic Advising Duty:Serving as the academic advisor for students going to Erasmus, guiding students' academic planning in line with the Erasmus period.
- Statistics and Reporting: Regularly reporting data on participant numbers, partner institutions, types of mobility, and success rates to the International Office and preparing departmental reports.
- Cultural Adaptation and Guidance: Providing orientation support to incoming students regarding the campus, city, and department; participating in activities that promote cultural integration.
