Objective:
The Bologna Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the department's education and training activities are carried out in accordance with the Bologna Process, international standards, the outcome-based education approach, and the principles of transparency. In this context, the Bologna Coordinator coordinates the presentation of course syllabi, programme outcomes, and ECTS credits in an up-to-date, consistent, and accessible manner.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Updating Course Information Packages (CIP): At the beginning of each semester, update the course information forms (syllabus) prepared in accordance with the Bologna format for all courses in the department; revise any missing or inconsistent content in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Ensuring the consistency of ECTS calculations: Verifying that ECTS credits calculated based on the workload of courses (classroom, assignments, exams, individual work, projects, etc.) are accurate and consistent.
- Matching Programme Competencies and Learning Outcomes: Ensure that course learning outcomes are consistently matched with programme competencies and that contribution levels (1-5) are clearly defined.
- Data Entry into the Bologna Information System:Ensuring that the Bologna Information Package pages in the university's automation system are regularly updated; working in coordination with the relevant university unit.
- Harmonisation of Assessment Methods:Ensure that the assessment methods specified in course syllabi (mid-term exams, assignments, final exams, etc.) are appropriate and varied for measuring learning outcomes.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the currency of Bologna outputs and submit periodic reports to faculty/university quality committees, making recommendations for improvement.
- Definition and Dissemination of Educational Objectives: Ensure that the department's educational objectives, programme outcomes, and competency matrices are clearly communicated to students and stakeholders.
- Alignment with the National Qualifications Framework: Ensure that the department's programme qualifications are coordinated with the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
- Contribution to Quality Processes: Ensure that the Bologna process outputs are consistent with quality assessment mechanisms such as MÜDEK, FEDEK, and YÖKAK.
- Informing Department Staff:Conducting information sessions for faculty members on topics such as Bologna outcomes, the ECTS system, and the formulation of learning outcomes.
